City Vice Centre Library of Beijing
Design by Snøhetta
This building is a public library in Beijing, which is situated next to the Grand Canal. This building has a huge light roof and open public spaces under it, which all face the challenges of shading. The roof of the building echoes the elements of the canal, with 906 pieces of glass forming a light roof shaped like a canal. BOE applied smart glass here, and the rapid change of each piece of glass makes the whole roof look like a river floating in the sky.

National Science and Technology Communication Centre, Beijing
This is an example of a circular light roof used in the National Centre for Science and Technology Communication in China. It is basically impossible to use electrical curtains for such a circular roof, but shading is an essential issue for the large event space underneath the roof. The use of dimming smart glass here is a perfect solution to solve the shading problem and brings a more cultural expression to the building.

Academic Exchange Centre of USTC
This is an academic communication centre in a university. The architects used smart glass in the curtain wall to reduce reflections from the lake next to the building. The interior space is not only blocked from the outside world by curtains when the sun is strong, but also allows for automatic adjustment when people approach the windows.
